A virtual filing cabinet allows you to share files with your clients securely.
Here's how to get started:
1. Navigate to your Productize Library
2. Create a New Upload Folder: Click "New" and choose "Upload Folder." This will be your virtual file cabinet.
3. Configure Folder Settings:
Name: Give your virtual file cabinet a clear and descriptive name (e.g., "Client Files").
Synopsis (Optional): Add a brief description of the folder's purpose for your reference.
Topic: Select a relevant topic category (optional) for categorization.
Permissions: Go to "Settings" and navigate to "Permissions." Here's where you control file access:
Show Generated Documents to Clients: Ensure this is turned on.
Upload Files: Turn this off if you want to prevent clients from uploading files to the folder.
Show Listing of Completed Files: Turn this on to allow clients to see uploaded files.
4. Hit Save
โ
Now that the Virtual File Cabinet has been created, you must enable it for a specific client. This will also allow you to add files to the folder.
5. Client Library Access:
From the main menu, navigate to "Clients" and choose the client you want to share the virtual file cabinet with.
Go to the "Library" tab for the desired client.
Locate the virtual file cabinet you created (under the topic you selected earlier).
Toggle the switch next to the virtual file cabinet to enable it for the chosen client.
Return to the "Documents" tab.
6. Upload Files for the Client:
You'll now see the virtual file cabinet listed as an option under the client's documents.
Click "Upload" to add files for the client.
Select the desired file(s) and click "Save."
Your client will now be able to see the Virtual File Cabinet you created under their "Documents" page within their portal.
