Services
Services are the container that shapes the entire client experience—from engagement to completion. A service defines what a client purchases, how they access it, and what they see in the portal.
Services are either Flat Fee or Subscription.
Subscription Services have a specified interval of month or year
Each includes pricing, a client-facing description, and an engagement document.
Signature collection is built in.
Services package the service, determining what and how many projects each client can start, and what Pages the client has access to.
Optional: trigger a kickoff Project to structure the work.
Optional: surface Pages, Forms, Upload Folders, and Meeting Links.
Optional: provide a structured policy for service cancellation
Services control the client’s portal experience. Everything a client sees, accesses, or interacts with is governed by the Service they’re assigned.
Naming matters—use a client-facing label that clearly describes the offer (e.g., "Trademark Package" or "Startup Counsel Plan"). Avoid duplicating names between Services and Projects to reduce confusion.
Packaging
Services include a package. The package determines the Projects and Pages that are included in the service.
For Projects, packaging can:
specify which projects should be shown to clients on their Dashboard
specify how many the client can start. For subscriptions, the number the client can start is renewed each month or year based on the interval of the subscription. E.g., allow clients to start 2 Document Review projects per month
automatically started on a schedule. E.g., automatically start a Quarterly Review every quarter
For Pages, packaging can be automatically included in the client portal's navigation bar for easy access.
Projects
Projects are how legal work is delivered in Fidu. They are structured containers built from a Project Template, containing tasks and milestones. Projects are typically launched from a Service but can also be initiated independently.
Each Project includes:
Optional Milestones to group work and communicate progress
Three types of tasks:
Client Tasks – assigned to and visible by the client
Optional: Client tasks can be connected to Resources, to direct clients toward specific actions like completing forms, watching videos, browsing articles, and more.
Team Tasks – internal reminders or instructions to move work forward
Fidu Tasks – automated tasks like sending messages
Projects are recommended for any Service that involves structured delivery, collaboration, or step-based engagement. They support clarity, repeatability, and alignment between team and client.
Projects can be upsells in Fidu. Just add a price and a payment method, and when clients use up their included amount, they will be presented with an option to pay.
Pages
Pages are client-facing content spaces used to share curated, helpful information that supports a Service or Project. Unlike dashboards, which give clients a centralized view of their overall engagement, Pages are used to deliver topic-specific content, additional guidance, or access to supporting actions and resources.
Firms use Pages to:
Explain specific legal topics or actions (e.g., “Trademark Process Overview”)
Provide firm-specific context that doesn’t belong on the dashboard (e.g., “Form Overview”)
Embed forms, downloads, FAQs, meeting links, and upload folders
Trigger projects directly from the page (e.g., “Start a Contract Review”)
A Page can be attached to either a Service or a Project. When attached to a Service, it appears in the client’s main navigation throughout their engagement. When attached to a Project, it appears only in that context. Pages can also be delivered automatically through a Fidu workflow.
Each Page should be titled using client-centered language that reflects what the client is trying to do or understand—not internal firm terms.
