How to Add a Video for Your Clients

Upload, organize, and share videos with your clients. Learn how to add a video in Resources, write client-facing details, assign topics, and archive videos you no longer need.

Videos are a great way to welcome clients, explain your process, or deliver instructional content in your own words. Unlike an Embed (which links to a third-party tool like YouTube or Loom), a Video is uploaded directly into Fidu and streamed to your clients right inside the portal. Follow these steps to add one.

  1. Navigate to the Resources Section
Head to Resources from the menu in your Fidu dashboard. Click New and select Video.

  2. Upload Your Video File
In the Video File area, click Upload a file or drag and drop your video onto the dropzone. MP4, WebM, MOV, and more are supported, up to a maximum of 1 GB. The upload bar shows progress as the file transfers. Once uploaded, your video is processed for streaming — this can take a few minutes for longer files, and clients will see a brief “processing” message until it’s ready to play.

  3. Add the Internal Details (Team Only)
Give your video an Internal Name, and optionally an Internal Description. These are displayed only to your team and are there to help you find and organize the video later. They are never shown to clients.

  4. Add the External Details (Client-Facing)
Enter an External Name and an optional External Description. These are displayed to your clients — the external name appears as the video’s title, and the description shows beneath the player. Write these with the client experience in mind.

  5. Assign a Topic
Choose one or more Topics to categorize your video. Topics keep your content organized so you can easily find and reuse it later. If you haven’t created a topic yet, you can set one up first in Resources > Topics.

  6. Set the Status and Save
Set the Status to Draft while you’re still working, or Published when it’s ready for clients to see. Click Save. Your video is now ready to share!

Where Your Clients See Videos

Once published, a video can be delivered to your clients in a few ways:

  1. Projects — Add a video to a project so it’s available to the client as part of their project.

  2. Pages — Add a video to a custom page to share it as part of a curated experience.

  3. Services & Workflows — Include videos in onboarding, active, or offboarding content so they’re delivered at the right moment in an engagement.

Archiving and Deleting a Video

When you no longer need a video, open it for editing and scroll to the bottom of the page. You’ll find two options:

  • Archive — Removes the video from your active library so it can no longer be shared with clients. Archiving is reversible — you can Restore an archived video at any time to make it available again.

  • Permanently Delete — Available once a video is archived. This permanently removes the video and cannot be undone, so use it with care.
